Current Projects

Lane is currently the Resident Artist with coLAB Arts and Mission First Housing Group, where they are creating art directly with residents of two permanent supportive housing developments in Edison, NJ as they recover from houselessness.

Lane is currently in post-production for T, a narrative feature film shot incrementally over the lead actor’s first two years on Testosterone.

Lane’s award-winning debut feature film Addict Named Hal (Austin Film Festival, Santa Barbara International Film Festival) tells the story of a group of recovering addicts living in a halfway house and is inspired by Lane’s personal experiences in recovery. HAL is now distributed through Freestyle Digital Media and available to rent or own through Amazon, iTunes, Apple TV, Vudu, Xbox, Google Play, YouTube Movies, AT&T U-Verse, DirecTV iN DEMAND, Vubiquity, Allin, and Hoopla.

Lane recently finished the short film QUENTIN BLUE, a documentary sharing how a band formed by lifers in San Quentin became a symbol of hope on the outside. QUENTIN BLUE won The Film Fund’s pitch competition and will soon hit the festival circuit while we raise funding to expand into a full feature film.

Lane’s short film BOIFRIEND (co-written and co-directed with Rebecca Marquardt) tells the story of a gay cis woman who is pleasantly surprised by her father’s acceptance of her new transmasc boyfriend - until she realizes he’s only happy because she’s in a straight-passing relationship. BOIFRIEND is an award-winning film playing festivals including Seattle Queer Film Festival, Deep in the Heart Film Festival, and Oxford Film Festival.

Lane is writing the book and co-writing the lyrics for the musical JACK & AIDEN, along with Tova Katz, as a commission through Ground Floor Theatre in Austin, TX. JACK & AIDEN explores grief, love, healing, recovery, and sexual liberation through a queer and trans lens. Ground Floor Theatre, Austin, TX, November 30-December 16, 2023.

Lane recently won grants from the Maryland State Arts Council and Queen Anne’s County Arts Council for their short documentary INK OR DYE, a short documentary film sharing how a young couple who met in a recovery house became artists, entrepreneurs, and community leaders. Lane met Keith and Cheryl while living in the same recovery house, and began filming in September 2023.

Lane is directing the dance film BREATHE, exploring embodiment, meditation, and yoga, and autobiographical elements of the dancer's genderqueer discovery, produced by Dance Camera West through KDA Creative Corps grant funding.

Lane’s play Lipstick: A Queer Farce will play at Fells Point Corner Theatre in Baltimore, MD from February 2-25, 2024, directed by Jeff Miller.
